D-erythrose 4-phosphate

Description

D-erythrose-4-phosphate (E4P) is a pentose phosphate pathway intermediate that condenses with phosphoenolpyruvate in the first step of the shikimate pathway, catalyzed by DAHP synthase, its availability for aromatic biosynthesis can be increased through transketolase overexpression [343].
